Chemonics International Inc., a leading international consulting firm, seeks to fill the following long-term, full-time position for a project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Indonesia Changes for Justice (C4J). The primary objective of the C4J project is to improve the performance of Indonesia's justice system, a prerequisite for good governance and sustained economic growth, through cooperation with the Supreme Court and Attorney General's Office (AGO) of the Republic of Indonesia.
Judicial Training Expert
The Judicial Training Expert is responsible for implementing training activities described under the Key Results Areas (KRAs) of the C4J project work plan. The Judicial Training Expert is also responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of judicial and prosecutorial training programs, including cooperating with all technical and administrative staff on implementation of trainings described under KRAs in compliance with USAID regulations and the contract signed by USAID and Chemonics.The Judicial Training Expert will also ensure strong professional relationships with the Supreme Court and AGO are fostered and maintained. Under the COP's direction, the Judicial Training Expert will contribute to the annual work plan and implementation of the contract specifications and modifications. The Judicial Training Expert will maintain technical quality control for judicial and prosecutorial training activities ensuring that performance targets and deliverables outlined in the project contract are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Judicial Training Expert will be ready to undertake other project duties as required by the COP.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience with progressively responsible experience in training judges and/or prosecutors or mentoring capacity is required. Prior experience working with donor-funded projects is required, preferably on technical assistance and/or capacity building in court and/or prosecution offices. Demonstrated understanding of Indonesia's justice sector and judicial system, with a law degree, is required. Written and verbal fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. Compensation will be negotiated with Chemonics International and will be based on the consultant's demonstrated salary history, professional experience, education and training, and market factors.
