Chemonics International Inc., a leading international consulting firm, seeks to fill the following long-term, full-time position for a project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Indonesia Changes for Justice (C4J). The primary objective of the C4J project is to improve the performance of Indonesia's justice system, a prerequisite for good governance and sustained economic growth, through cooperation with the Supreme Court and Attorney General's Office (AGO) of the Republic of Indonesia.

Training Assistant
Overall requirements
This is a cross-cutting position and it is expected that the Training Assistant will support and implement short-term in-country requirements relating to trainings, meetings, workshops, and other such educational programs ("trainings") for the C4J Project. The Training Assistant will be responsible for carrying out the management, design, execution, and follow-up of training programs supported by C4J. The Training Assistant will do this work in compliance with USAID regulations and the contract signed by USAID and Chemonics.
The Training Assistant will at all times adhere to and act according to the Chemonics Professional Code of Ethics ("Living Our Values") and will make the principles of the Code a part of the project's culture and standard operating procedures.
The Training Assistant will also ensure that a positive and professional working relationship is fostered and maintained with the Supreme Court Training Center and the AGO Training Center throughout the life of the project.
Under the direction of the Deputy Chief of Party the Training Assistant will contribute to the annual work plan per contract specifications.
In cooperation with the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, the Training Assistant will contribute substantively to project reporting and monitoring and evaluation.
The Training Assistant will be ready to undertake other project duties as required by the Deputy Chief of Party or Chief of Party.
Specific requirements
The Training Assistant will ensure short-term training events meet organizational and administrative quality goals, including all record keeping, data on participants and bills from vendors are complete, so that that C4J contract performance targets and deliverables are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner. Specifically the Training Assistant will carry out the following tasks, among others as needs dictate:
Coordinate all logistical aspects of trainings including arranging travel, processing travel clearances, and fielding consultants.
Label and maintain all administrative files in regards to trainings including travel clearances/itineraries, consultant transport and lodging information, and all other non-accounting related documentation.
Provide administrative support to C4J's other training team members and technical leaders.
Prepare brief reports of trainings and meetings relating to trainings that are convened
Prepare financial reports of the training(s) and meetings s/he is responsible for.
Assist in hosting project visitors and arranging meeting details.
Answer inquires and supply available project information from counterparts or work partners on trainings as required.
Prepare monthly expenditure reports and supporting documentation from trainings and meetings on a timely basis.
Fulfill other administrative functions professionally and on a timely basis as required.
Under the supervision of the Deputy Chief of Party, the Training Assistant will contribute to all C4J training and relevant activities in Supreme Court and AGO. This will require daily collaboration and cooperation with other training team members including the Training Specialists, Research and Training Specialists, Judicial Training Expert, Prosecution Services Expert, Deputy Chief of Party and Chief of Party.
Reporting and Monitoring and Evaluation
The Training Assistant will report directly to the Deputy Chief of Party or her designee. She will prepare regular oral and written progress reports that demonstrate the status of project activities toward expected results, as well as other reports as required.
As teamwork is crucial to the success of the project, the Training Assistant will be expected to coordinate work with other technical, managerial and administrative C4J staff, as per direction from the Deputy Chief of Party.
Qualifications and Salary
The Training Assistant shall have a college degree and a minimum of 5 (five) years of professional experience including general contract management, financial management, training, and facilitation of complex international and multi-partner programs. Prior experience with technical assistance projects and work with donor-funded projects is preferred. Demonstrated understanding of Indonesia's justice sector and judicial system is necessary. Written and verbal fluency in English is necessary. Strong inter-personal and communication skills are desired.
Time Frame
This long-term, full-time position is available immediately with an annual approved level of effort of no more than 260 days for each project year for 4 (four) years. The employment agreement will be renewed on an annual basis following a positive performance evaluation. The C4J project ends on May 11, 2014.
